Key Responsibilities:

Engineering Planning:

  • Assist the General Manager in identifying major facilities and equipment requirements for the Engineering Department and the property.
  • Maintain all equipment in conjunction with other user departments and stay up-to-date with technological advances in surveillance and safety.

People Management:

Establish and maintain seamless coordination and cooperation with all hotel departments to ensure maximum productivity, morale, and guest service.

  • Provide effective support to the team to deliver efficient services.
  • Respond to customer queries by resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Motivate and develop staff to ensure smooth department functioning.
  • Ensure the team is trained in all safety provisions.

Financial Management:

  • Ensure optimal, cost-effective use of resources and educate the team on the same.

Operational Management:

  • Regularly inspect the state of buildings and installations, including stonework, brickwork, painting, and other aspects.
  • Supervise the operations of the Airconditioning plant, boilers, pumps, etc.
  • Follow proper safety measures.
  • Ensure temperature specifications are met in cold stores and public areas.
  • Record and attend to all complaints promptly to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with other departments for preventive maintenance of equipment.
  • Check and ensure proper handling, operation, and maintenance of all equipment.
  • Ensure the desired water level is maintained in water storage tanks.
  • Check and ensure the working condition of fire detectors, fire fighting systems, transformers, electrical systems, etc.
  • Check and ensure proper safety measures have been adhered to and maintain all fire fighting equipment.

Hygiene/Personal Safety/Environment:

  • Maintain a clean and tidy workplace and storage areas.
  • Respect equipment safety guidelines.
  • Apply hotel security regulations in case of emergencies.
  • Comply with ISO 9001 quality certification requirements impacting the role.
  • Respect the hotel's environmental commitments, including energy saving, recycling, and waste sorting.
