Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Manager to join our Supply Chain team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring engineering products (including spare parts, machinery, glassware, reactors, electrical components, and other technical equipment) as well as some indirect purchase for our manufacturing operations. The role will also involve managing the CapEx requirements, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and equipment. The successful candidate will need to be a strategic thinker with strong negotiation skills, an understanding of engineering products, and a track record in managing both direct and indirect purchasing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement Management: Manage the full procurement lifecycle for engineering goods, including sourcing, negotiating, purchasing, and coordinating deliveries of equipment, spare parts, machinery, reactors, and electrical components.
- Vendor Management: Build and maintain relationships with existing suppliers, identify new suppliers, and evaluate vendor performance. Ensure suppliers meet quality, cost, and delivery targets.
- Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement sourcing strategies to reduce costs, improve quality, and streamline procurement processes.
- Cost Negotiation: Lead negotiations with suppliers to obtain the best possible pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules, ensuring value for money for both capital and operational expenditures.
- CapEx Management: Collaborate with internal stakeholders (engineering, plant operations, and finance teams) to identify and plan CapEx requirements for new plant setups and expansions.
- Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate records of contracts, purchase orders, and supplier agreements. Should have working knowledge of SAP
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or related field). An MBA in Supply chain management would be an added advantage.
- Experience: 8-10 years of experience in procurement, with a strong focus on purchasing engineering products, spare parts, and indirect materials. Experience in the chemical manufacturing or industrial sector is highly desirable.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of engineering products, mechanical, electrical, and industrial equipment. Familiarity with the technical specifications and procurement needs for machinery, reactors, and boilers.
- Negotiation Skills: Exceptional negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to secure favorable terms and pricing.
- Supplier Relationships: Proven ability to establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, including those in international markets.
