Job Overview:

A key role within our organization is that of Disaster Recovery Specialist. In this position, you will be responsible for developing and implementing business recovery plans and procedures, reviewing, revising, and expanding existing protocols as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive disaster recovery strategies to ensure minimal disruption to business operations in the event of an unexpected interruption.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, maintain, and implement enterprise-wide disaster recovery plans, risk assessments, and application and technical strategies.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments for various departments and functions, analyzing potential business impact of unpredictable interruptions such as natural disasters, security breaches, legal claims, and market disruptions.
  • Align IT organization priorities and plans with key business objectives, driving strategic decision-making.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and implement recovery operations and methods to enable the company to function at limited or partial capacity in the event of infrastructure damage or destruction.
  • Create and facilitate practice drills for plan execution, ensuring effective preparedness and response.
  • Develop and track program metrics to demonstrate activities and progress.
  • Review, configure, and maintain business continuity and crisis management tools, ensuring optimal functionality.
  • Coordinate with health, safety, and security staff, as well as local, state, and federal agencies, to align the organization's emergency management plan with established best practices and community standards.
  • Support business disruption response coordination and communications, ensuring seamless continuity.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5-9 years of experience in disaster recovery and business continuity.
  • Strong understanding of disaster recovery principles, processes, and tools.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Able to work collaboratively across functional teams.
