Senior Contract Counsel

About the Role:

  • Clients require dedicated counsel who can understand their needs and tailor contract agreements accordingly. As Senior Contract Counsel, you will engage with clients to gather detailed briefs for drafting contracts and agreements.
  • Expert advice is crucial in this role. You will provide guidance on legal provisions, risks, and best practices for contracts.

Drafting and Supervision:

  • Junior associates require direct supervision and guidance in drafting various types of contracts and agreements based on client briefs. You will oversee and direct junior associates in their tasks.
  • Clear instructions are vital to ensure accuracy and relevance of drafts. You will provide frameworks to junior associates to guarantee quality deliverables.

Quality Assurance:

  • Review and Quality Control (QC) are critical functions in this role. You will review contracts drafted by junior associates for compliance, accuracy, and alignment with client requirements.
  • Error rectification is essential. You will identify and rectify errors or inconsistencies to ensure high-quality deliverables.

Training and Development:

  • Effective training is key to improving skills and efficiency. You will train junior associates on effective drafting techniques, legal language, and industry best practices.
  • Mentoring sessions are essential for growth. You will conduct regular workshops or mentoring sessions to improve the team's drafting skills and efficiency.

Process Optimization:

  • Internal workflows need refinement to improve turnaround time. You will develop and refine internal workflows for drafting, reviewing, and finalizing contracts.
  • Standards and guidelines adherence is crucial. You will ensure adherence to the organization's standards and guidelines for contract drafting.

Legal Research:

  • Compliance and value addition are essential in this role. You will conduct research on legal updates and industry trends to ensure compliance and provide added value to clients.

Collaboration and Reporting:

  • Collaboration is key in this role. You will collaborate with the legal team and management to streamline processes and resolve complex client requirements.
