Product Engineering Manager Job Description

As a Product Engineering Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of high-quality products that meet the evolving needs of our customers.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy scalable and efficient product engineering solutions.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders, product managers, developers, quality analysts, infrastructure specialists to establish robust product engineering processes.
  • Identify and deploy the right tools, frameworks, techniques, and processes to help product engineers do their work faster and solve technology problems more effectively.
  • Own all non-functional requirements for products and ensure they meet customer expectations.
  • Contribute to the selection and hiring of product engineering team members.
  • Responsible for full-stack product development, release, and maintenance within agreed time frames.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in product development companies would be highly desirable.
  • Well-versed in Agile software development and management methods, including user stories, iterative development, continuous integration, continuous delivery, shared ownership, test-driven development, etc.
  • Adaptable and able to use off-the-shelf software components when necessary.
  • Strong track record of shipping value to customers and prioritizing progress over perfection.
  • Hands-on and extremely confident with Typescript.
  • Experience with JavaScript-based front-end frameworks like React, Vue, Angular, or Svelte, and back-end technologies like Node.js.
  • Well-versed in service-oriented architecture and have built and deployed RESTful APIs or GraphQL endpoints.
  • Built and shipped features for high-traffic web applications and mobile applications.
  • Good understanding of RDBMS (preferably MySQL) and NoSQL databases like Cassandra or MongoDB.
  • Familiar with observability tools to identify and isolate problems.

Qualifications & Experience:

BE/B.Tech or equivalent degree with 12 - 20 years of relevant experience.
