Trade Compliance Manager Job Description

This is a challenging and rewarding role for an experienced Trade Compliance Manager. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Indian Customs law, foreign trade policy, and the specific regulatory frameworks governing SEZ and MOOWR schemes.

  • Manage day-to-day import/export operations for units registered under SEZ and MOOWR ensuring full compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Oversee the application, amendment, and renewal processes for SEZ/EOU Letters of Permission (LOP) and MOOWR licenses.
  • Ensure adherence to scheme conditions, including value addition norms, and operational procedures.

Responsibilities include preparing, reviewing, and filing necessary customs documentation for imports and exports under these schemes, including Bills of Entry and Shipping Bills. The role also involves managing customs bonding requirements, coordinating with Customs House Agents, and handling customs valuation procedures.

The successful candidate will be able to interpret complex regulations, analyze trade data, identify compliance risks, and calculate duties/taxes accurately. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective liaison with government authorities, internal teams, and management.

Key Requirements:

  • Master's degree in commerce/law/international business or related field.
  • Minimum 12-15 years' direct experience in Indian import/export operations and trade compliance for a manufacturing unit, with a strong focus on managing SEZ and MOOWR.
