Procurement Specialist

Main Responsibilities:

  • We are seeking a seasoned procurement specialist to join our team.

About the Role:

  • This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to oversee the procurement of spare parts, consumables, and technical equipment for vessels worldwide.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Source and procure high-quality spare parts, consumables, and technical equipment for vessels in compliance with maritime regulations.
  2. Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing while maintaining high product standards.
  3. Build strong relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure reliable support and timely delivery of goods.
  4. Process purchase requisitions efficiently, ensuring accurate and timely order placement, tracking, and follow-ups.
  5. Coordinate logistics and supply chain operations to ensure timely delivery of goods to vessels at ports worldwide.
  6. Monitor procurement budgets and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or safety.
  7. Review and verify supplier invoices, ensuring accurate documentation for payment processing.
  8. Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and vendor agreements, ensuring seamless audits and inventory management.
  9. Collaborate closely with vessel superintendents and technical teams to understand and fulfill purchasing requirements.
  10. Provide alternative solutions when specific parts or equipment are unavailable.
  11. Keep vessels updated on order status and delivery timelines.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Solid understanding of vessel maintenance and dry-docking requirements.
  • Familiarity with international maritime regulations.
  • Proficiency in procurement and inventory management software.
  • Experience in international logistics and customs clearance for marine spares.
