Role Overview

A Data Engineer II is required to collaborate with innovators, envision new possibilities, and drive their careers further in a world of innovation, openness, and limitless thinking.

The successful candidate will lead the transformation of analytics in the world of data using products like databases, data integration, big data analytics, messaging & real-time analytics, and business intelligence. Key products include Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL DB, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure PostgreSQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Grid, and Power BI.

Our mission is to build a unified data platform that powers a new class of data-first applications and drives a data culture.

Within our team, the Data Engineer II will be responsible for building and maintaining the operating system and providing customers a unified data stack to run their entire data estate. The platform offers a unified experience, unified governance, enables a unified business model, and a unified architecture.

We are hiring a Data Engineer II with experience in Microsoft Fabric to develop analytics tools for Fabric Capacity Admins. Strong knowledge of Realtime (Kusto) and BI (Power BI) is preferred.

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years experience in business analytics, data science, software development, data modeling or data engineering work OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 1+ year(s) experience in business analytics, data science, software development, or data engineering work OR equivalent experience.

Additional or preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years experience in business analytics, data science, software development, data modeling or data engineering work OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years of business analytics, data science, software development, data modeling or data engineering work experience OR equivalent experience.
Responsibilities

The Data Engineer II will be responsible for owning and developing data models and reports for external-facing customers. This role requires strong technical product knowledge to build the next generation of analytics tools for Fabric users. The engineer must also own, develop, and drive insights from telemetry for product engineers, manage monitoring and alerting based on product telemetry, and support and improve existing features through technical and process improvement.
