Job Title: Cloud Engineering Senior Advisor - Senior SRE Engineer
Role Overview:In this senior role, you will provide hands-on software engineering and system architecture leadership for our Behavioral Health and Care Solutions Delivery teams. You will be working on several large-scale Technology initiatives for Evernorth targeted at revolutionizing Health Services and Healthcare Delivery in the United States. Your focus will be on enhancing our market-winning capabilities in the Behavioral Health and Care Solutions space.
- You will run the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health.
- You will build software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications.
- You will improve reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of software solutions.
- You will measure and optimize system performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and innovating for continual improvement.
- You will provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large-scale distributed software applications.
- You will attend PIR, M1/M2 calls and provide a proactive approach to identifying problems, performance bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
- You will provide support for network, VMware, Compute-related infrastructure changes by engaging stakeholders and running the entire checkout process during the change window.
Your other key responsibilities include:
- Gathering and analyzing metrics from operating systems as well as applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding.
- Partnering with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures.
- Participating in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning.
- Creating sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts.
- Balancing feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service-level objectives.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- The ability to program using one or more high-level languages, such as Python, Ansible.
- Experience with building and deploying containers.
- A solid understanding of containerization and microservices architecture and the ability to design simple systems that can work efficiently without needing much support.
- Knowledge of monitoring systems, such as Dynatrace.
- Experience with Splunk queries for building dashboards.
We are looking for candidates with:
- 13-16 years of experience.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms, including EC2, ELB, VPC, RDS, IAM, CloudFormation, S3, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, SNS, SQS, SWF, EBS, EMR, DynamoDB, Elastic Beanstalk, and monitoring tools like Nagios, Grafana, Splunk, and AWS CloudWatch.
- Configuration management tools, such as Chef and Ansible.
- CI/CD tools, like Jenkins.
- Scripting languages, including Java, JavaScript, NodeJS, PowerShell, Python, Bash.
- Containerization technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Version control tools, including GIT.
- Databases, such as Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL.
- Build tools, such as Ant, Maven, Gradle.
- Virtualization technologies, including Oracle VirtualBox, VMware, Vagrant.
- Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve complex issues with innovative solutions.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to define and develop customized solutions that meet business requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and meet project deadlines.
- Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment and make independent decisions.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate project deadlines and/or after-hours.
This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week. Expected overlap with US hours as appropriate.
Primarily based in the Innovation Hub in Hyderabad, India, in a hybrid working model (3 days WFO and 2 days WFH).
