Data Engineer for Innovative Health Solutions

Our Data and Analytics organization is seeking an exceptional data engineer to actively participate with their development team on initiatives that support our strategic goals. You will work with subject matter experts to understand business logic and develop integrated architectural strategies to support next-generation reporting and analytical capabilities on an enterprise-wide scale.
This role involves developing healthcare data structures and data transformation logic to allow for analytics and reporting for customer journeys, personalization opportunities, pre-active actions, text mining, action prediction, fraud detection, text/sentiment classification, collaborative filtering/recommendation, and/or signal detection.
The ideal candidate will work in a team environment that demands technical excellence and holds members accountable for the overall success of the end product. Focus for this team is on delivering innovative solutions to complex problems while driving simplicity in refining and supporting the solution by others.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be accountable for delivery of business functionality.
- Migrate and re-engineer data and applications from on-premise to cloud using AWS services.
- Engineer solutions conformant to enterprise standards, architecture, and technologies.
- Provide technical expertise through hands-on approach, developing solutions that automate testing between systems.
- Perform peer code reviews, merge requests, and production releases.
- Implement design and functionality using Agile principles.
- A proven track record of quality software development and ability to innovate outside traditional architecture/software patterns when needed.
- A desire to collaborate in a high-performing team environment and influence/ be influenced by others.
- A quality mindset, ensuring ongoing data quality by monitoring data to identify problems before they have business impact.
- An entrepreneurial, business-minded attitude, asking smart questions, taking risks, and championing new ideas.
- Taking ownership and accountability.
Requirements:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in application program development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge and/or experience with healthcare information domains.
- Documented experience in business intelligence or analytic development role on various large-scale projects.
- Documented experience working with databases larger than 5TB and excellent data analysis skills.
- Experience with TDD/BDD.
- Experience working with SPARK and real-time analytic frameworks.
Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year.
