Operational Logistics Manager

We are seeking a seasoned Operational Logistics Manager to oversee the coordination of operational processes, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of cargo to customers.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of freight forwarding procedures and financials, as well as excellent leadership and people management skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate operations for Imports & Exports departments, monitoring workflows and resource management to ensure timely and accurate operational processes.
  • Ensure speedy delivery of cargo to customers.
  • Comply with regulations of governing bodies such as USA & Canada Customs/IATA/TSA.
  • Supervise shift managers and teams, reviewing KPIs regularly to ensure quality, timelines, and communication meet expectations.
Financial Management Functions
  • Set goals and objectives for the team in accordance with company guidelines and key performance areas/indicators.
  • Use established indicators and tools appropriately to ensure all accounting matters are finalized to maximize revenue.
  • Ensure all accounting functions in the branch are dealt with in a timely manner.
Leadership and Team Management
  • Lead, motivate, and manage all operations teams.
  • Retain adequate staffing levels.
  • Conduct quarterly performance reviews; establish targets and objectives.
  • Monitor staff performance, work with HR on employee relations and training issues.
Requirements:
  • Familiarity with all freight forwarding procedures and financials: TSA, CBP, IATA, FMC, BIS.
  • Bachelor's degree in any field (preferred: Commerce, International Trade, Logistics).
  • 5+ years of industry-related experience required, with preference to freight forwarding.
  • 2+ years of team management experience, including managing team leads or shift managers.
