We are seeking an experienced test automation engineer to lead the development of our big data platform. As a key member of our team, you will design, implement, and maintain automated testing frameworks to ensure the quality of our enterprise-level big data system.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Java and Selenium, as well as expertise in building and designing automation frameworks. You will be responsible for leading a team of automation engineers to guide them and achieve end-to-end API, UI, and backend automation.

  1. Design and implement automated testing frameworks using Java and Selenium.
  2. Lead a team of automation engineers to develop and maintain testing frameworks.
  3. Develop automation scripts to automate big data workflows such as ingestion, aggregation, ETL processing, etc.
  4. Debugging and troubleshooting issues within the big data ecosystem.
  5. Set up the big data platform and Hadoop ecosystem for testing.
  6. Define test strategy and write test plan for data platform enhancements and new features/services built on it.
  7. Responsible for system & performance testing of the data platform and applications.
  8. Solve problems, establish plans, and provide technical consultation in the design, development, and test effort of complex engineering projects.
  9. Review product specifications and write test cases, develop test plans for assigned areas.
  10. Identify issues and technical interdependencies and suggest possible solutions.
  11. Test big data ingestion and aggregation flows using spark shell and related queries.
  12. Do end to end workflow automation using a framework.
  13. Contribute in Test Automation Development/Enhancement.
  14. Recreate complex customer and production reported issues to determine root cause and verify the fix.
  15. Have an automation first attitude to help reduce regression manual regression cycles.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 8-10 years of experience in full-time testing role and at least 4-6 years in hands-on automation role as lead.
  • Hands-on experience with Java and Selenium.
  • Experience with building and designing automation frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience in automating backend applications (e.g., database, REST APIs).
  • Should have experience in integrating CI-CD pipelines for automation frameworks for ease of use.
  • Hands-on experience with automating any backend applications (e.g., database, server-side).
  • Knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
  • Good debugging skills.
  • Working experience working in Linux/Unix environment.
  • Good to have experience on working with K8s.
  • Good understanding of testing methodologies.
  • Good to have hands-on experience in working on Big Data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Elastic.
  • Experience in Security domain is an advantage.
