The role of a senior quality assurance engineer is to ensure the reliability and scalability of autonomous drone systems. This requires a unique blend of technical skills, leadership abilities, and business acumen.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and implement test frameworks for manual and automated testing across simulator, drone, and hardware-in-loop environments.
- Prioritize and execute hands-on testing to validate core software modules, APIs, mission logic, and edge-case scenarios.
- Create test strategies that scale across fleets, geographies, and client configurations.
- Triage, log, and resolve bugs with clarity and urgency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prevent regressions and build testability from day one.
- 35 years of experience in testing domain.
- Experience in hardware-software systems (UAVs, robotics, embedded systems) is preferred.
- Comfortable with real-world testing: regressions, field logs, test plans, system-level validations.
- Experience with scripting & automation (Python preferred; Bash/JS a bonus).
- Strong communication skills to explain bugs, edge cases, and root causes clearly to both engineers and executives.
- High-agency, high-autonomy culture.
- Latest tools + custom AI stack (use LLMs, don't fear them).
- International deployments (solar farms in the desert, rail yards in the snow).
