
Clinical Contract Negotiator

The position involves procuring essential goods and services for business operations, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.
A key responsibility is to develop and execute procurement strategies, manage relationships with suppliers, and negotiate contracts that meet business needs.
The main point of contact with vendors is responsible for establishing strong working relationships, communicating effectively, and delivering commercial benefits.
Negotiations involve developing and executing agreements that balance risk and reward, ensuring compliance with company procedures and regulations.
Agreements are ensured to be commercially advantageous to the organization while minimizing risk through close collaboration with internal stakeholders.
The procurement process is based on current category strategy, value-added services, cost avoidance, and savings opportunities.
A robust implementation is delivered to maximize value and drive spend/contract compliance, including ongoing monitoring and reduction of maverick spend.
Annual productivity improvements are driven in applicable spend categories.
Complete contract packages are prepared for clinical activities. All necessary approvals are secured to ensure compliance to relevant laws and company policies.
Vendor audit requests are contributed to, and corrective action plans are facilitated.
Suppliers are ensured to be delivering in line with expectations and contracts.
Able to identify proactively and pursue new ideas and opportunities, acting as an innovation agent and modifying approach and behaviors as necessary to create value.
Projects are planned, organized, and managed taking into account priorities, resources, budgets, issues, and constraints to achieve desired results.
Key RequirementsEssential Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years experience in Procurement / Supply Chain Management / Clinical Development
- Minimum 5 years experience in Outsourcing within the Pharmaceutical or CRO industry.
- Detailed understanding of the procurement process and robust understanding of contract management.
- Excellent influencing and negotiating skills.
- Solid understanding of contractual legal terms and conditions.
- Excellent understanding of the market including central laboratories, reference laboratories, and specialty providers
- Solid financial understanding as it relates to contracts and cost elements.
- Analysing specifications for optimization. Linking specification to customer value, challenging specification confidently. Conveying messages clearly and convincing stakeholders
Desirable Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelors degree in Lifesciences/Chemistry / Biochemistry or related field is required.
