Technical Manager - Bulk Carrier

Our client is seeking a skilled Technical Manager to oversee the technical operations of a modern fleet of bulk carrier vessels. This shore-based role offers an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned chief engineer to transition their valuable seagoing expertise into a challenging and rewarding position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the technical management, maintenance, and performance of assigned bulk carrier vessels.
  • Plan and execute dry-dockings, repairs, and major overhauls within budget and timelines.
  • Ensure vessels comply with all international regulations (SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM, ISPS, etc.) and class requirements.
  • Manage budgets for vessel maintenance, repairs, and spares.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to onboard chief engineers and crew.
  • Liaise with classification societies, flag states, and third-party vendors.
Requirements:
  • Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency from either the Indian DG Shipping (CDC) or the UK MCA (CDC).
  • Minimum 6-12 months of sailing experience as Chief Engineer on bulk carrier vessels.
  • At least 3 years to 8 years of proven shore-based experience as a Technical Superintendent, specifically managing bulk carrier vessels.
