Leadership Role: Engineering Director

About the Position:

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Director to oversee the technical strategy, architecture, and delivery of our cybersecurity platform.

This is a leadership position where you will develop and scale a high-performing team, own end-to-end engineering execution, and establish a strong foundation for our product and culture.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversight of the engineering roadmap in alignment with business goals.
  • Building and scaling a lean engineering team by hiring and mentoring talent.
  • Driving the design, development, and delivery of secure, scalable software products.
  • Establishment of best practices in coding, testing, CI/CD, observability, and architecture.
  • Collaboration with founders, product, and design teams to translate business needs into technical execution.
  • Making technical decisions on architecture, tools, and platform design.
  • Setting and tracking engineering KPIs for velocity, quality, and reliability.
  • Ensuring compliance with security and regulatory standards.
  • Staying ahead of emerging technologies and introducing relevant innovations at the right time.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in the First 12 Months:
  • Development and scaling of an initial engineering team of 5-7 engineers.
  • Delivery of the MVP release of Visiblaze IQ and establishment of the roadmap for enterprise readiness.
  • Establishment of secure, automated CI/CD pipelines and monitoring baselines.
  • Definition and documentation of engineering best practices and architecture standards.
  • Demonstration of measurable improvements in team velocity and product quality.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • At least 4+ years hands-on development experience.
  • At least 2-3 years in engineering management (team building, delivery).
  • Proven ability to hire, mentor, and grow engineering talent.
  • Experience delivering SaaS products (cybersecurity, cloud, or compliance preferred).
  • Strong foundation in system architecture, microservices, and cloud-native design.
  • Proficiency in PostgreSQL, Redis, and scalable data modeling.
  • Experience with REST APIs and GraphQL.
  • Familiarity with AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda) or similar cloud environments.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Kubernetes or container orchestration platforms.
  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis Streams).
  • Experience with monitoring & logging tools (Prometheus, ELK, CloudWatch).
  • Exposure to compliance-driven environments (SOC 2, ISO 27001).
  • Understanding of security best practices for SaaS products.
