Job Title: Financial Analyst

The primary function of this role is to oversee the financial accounting aspects of designated legal entities in the APAC region under the direction of the Finance Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To ensure accurate posting of month-end accruals and prepayments for local and US reporting needs, covering all costs and their appropriate recognition.
  • To set up and input bank transactions into the ledger as journals, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • To produce daily cash reports for all APAC businesses, providing insights into cash requirements and funding arrangements.
  • To review daily cash requirements for the APAC entities, ensuring appropriate funding arrangements are in place.
  • To set up and post monthly journals for items such as depreciation, and update supporting spreadsheets accordingly.
  • To perform certain Treasury functions, including making payments, settling intercompany invoices, and ensuring adequate cash levels in local bank accounts.
  • To produce trial balances for relevant countries to meet month-end close US reporting deadlines.
  • To provide management information for UK and local needs as required, including P&L reviews, flux analysis, and cost control inputs.
  • To collaborate with the Finance Manager, local advisors, and other team members to ensure year-end audit, statutory accounts, and tax returns are filed on time.
  • To perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations of control accounts, bank accounts, and asset debtor and creditor accounts, based on risk category.
  • To liaise with other Finance team members within the APAC region and overseas to ensure account integrity.
  • To ensure compliance with VAT and other local statutory and tax reporting requirements.
  • To adhere to and consistently apply Group Finance policies and procedures.
  • To serve as the key Finance contact for operational managers and local employees of relevant countries.

Requirements:

  • A qualified Chartered Accountant with a strong understanding of financial accounting principles.
  • 1-2+ years of experience working for a multinational corporation with regional accounting responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems, preferably Oracle, and experience with reporting and reconciliation requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and Excel skills, with intermediate level proficiency.
  • Good organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with colleagues and clients across countries.
  • Excellent written and oral English capabilities.
