Job Summary

As an IT Cluster Manager at Marriott International, you will be responsible for leading and operating the Information Technology discipline for properties and managed offices within your scope. You will manage a team of IT resources and be accountable for day-to-day hotel and company office IT operations. Your role will involve providing support to operations leaders for owner relations and negotiations on IT matters, as well as executing property internet support. You will work closely with your direct manager on vendor management and product development for the assigned market.

Candidate Profile

Education and Experience

• A hotel or hospitality management education, with awareness of global hospitality technology trends, and experience in assignments at international locations. You should have back of the house and guest-facing operational and technical experience with hospitality management systems. A minimum of 3 years in an Associate Supervisory role is required.

OR

• A Bachelor's degree level or equivalent, with a minimum of 2 years project management experience. Proven negotiation skills are essential.

Core Work Activities

General

• Maintain status documentation (goals, scorecard, LPA tracking) to verify accuracy.

• Strive to achieve balanced scorecard and goals by leveraging resources and concepts to achieve desired results.

• Monitor assigned company-owned and managed offices to verify IT operations are running effectively.

• Meet with your direct manager to provide updates on IT activities and business plans.

• Meet with business point of contact of each property (General Manager, Director of Finance, or in-person contact at least once every two months) to seek feedback and provide effective updates on IT activities and plans. Produce follow-up reports, action plans, and information distribution.

• Assist with the activation of all potential properties within the cluster by building business cases and engaging owners and business partners.

People

• Own IT vendor relationships for properties in scope.

• Participate in the Talent Acquisition process according to company procedures.

• Verify induction programs for new associates or associates transferring to new roles are effective.

• Train associate(s) to provide backup coverage in the department to cover cluster leader's functions during vacation and sick leave.

• Perform LPA's on a timely basis and allocate sufficient time, research, and effort to verify the process effectively benefits the development of associates.

• Verify effective communication, training, and execution of all talent development programs and related initiatives.

• Develop a personal management style that is intended to bring positive results from associates.

• Build and maintain positive and effective relations with direct team members.

Product

• Strive to remain informed on the most up-to-date knowledge regarding vendor activities.

• Notify your direct manager to put resources in place to verify owners have sufficient vendor choices in each market/city.

• Where assigned, deliver pilot phase early review/completion/recommendation reports and relevant documentation.

• Where assigned, document technology pilot scope and objectives with business partners.

Process

• Maintain IT inventory for assigned properties/offices in the cluster.

• Manage cluster IT Agreements for assigned properties.

• Verify cluster associates are treated appropriately and in alignment with local operational practices.

• Verify the execution and tracking of rollouts on a timely basis.

• Compile, seek approval, monitor, and strive to meet operating budgets; manage expenses using tracking and forecasting tools and engage with the accounting team closely.

• Verify resources assigned to IT escalation and tracking processes are effective and meet service level agreements.

• Monitor the flow of issue management amongst continent support desks, vendors, and cluster organizations to verify effectiveness.

• Implement cluster best practices and suggest enhancements with the intent to benefit the wider IT community.

• Implement cluster IT policies and procedures as received by regional IT.

• Attend IT Education Calls.

• Verify planning and accomplishment of technology disaster and contingency plan testing for each property and office.

• Complete other reasonable duties as requested by leadership.
