System Programmer for CICS

About the Role:

As a System Programmer for CICS, you will be responsible for performing systems programming and administration activities to ensure the smooth operation of our mainframe environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform CICS systems programming and administration activities to meet business requirements.
  • Upgrade and maintain CICS versions, including TS upgrades and Transaction Server upgrades.
  • Execute SMP/E maintenance activities to ensure system stability and efficiency.
  • Manage CICS RDO resources online/offline to optimize system performance.
  • Create, configure, and sunset CICS regions as required to meet changing business needs.
  • Modify CICS configurations and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations and provide excellent customer service.
  • Provide support for z/OS Connect to enable seamless integration with other systems.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of CICS Systems Programming to design, develop, and implement effective solutions.
  • Expertise in z/OS, JCL, REXX, VSAM, Endevor, CA7, ServiceNow, and z/OS Explorer to leverage system capabilities and tools.
  • Experience with CICS upgrades and maintenance via SMP/E to stay up-to-date with latest technology trends.
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
