Occupational Health Manager Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Health Manager to oversee the health and wellbeing of our workforce. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in occupational health, with expertise in conducting hazard assessments, developing and implementing health procedures, and providing referral services.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing occupational health hazards, conducting medical examinations, and providing first-aid care. They will also maintain medicine stock, generate employee health records, and impart health education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct occupational health hazard assessments and suggest improvements to management.
  • Develop and implement general and occupational health procedures and protocols.
  • Provide referral services with tie-ups with local hospitals and specialists.
  • Guide and assist management in addressing and correcting occupational health issues.
Operational Responsibilities:
  • Pre-periodical medical examinations of workers and employees to ensure fitness before deployment.
  • First-aid care including emergency medical treatment.
  • Conduct statutory health check-ups and coordinate the visit of certifying surgeons.
  • Maintain medicine stock and inventory, specific antidotes at site OHC.
  • Medical record upkeep and maintenance as per Factories Act and Rules and ISO requirements.
  • Generate database of employee health records with trends and provide necessary advice.
Financial Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and control Medical Centre revenue budget.
  • Propose any capital expenditure projects.
People Responsibilities:
  • Referral services with necessary medical advice.
  • Occupational Health and General Health Awareness training including First Aid training for employees.
Requirements:
  • MBBS degree.
  • Diploma in Industrial Health (DIH) or Certificate of Training in Industrial Health recognized by state government.
Experience:
  • Minimum 1-8 years of experience in managing OHC in an industrial setup.
