Head of Intellectual Property Protection Specialist

This role is responsible for reviewing NPD designs to identify potential areas of IP legal risk and developing strategies for mitigation. The ideal candidate will strengthen the culture of technology/NPD through IP.

  • Review designs for IP and initiate actions to de-risk products (current and future).
  • Perform patent/competitor portfolio analysis for patent literature as well as non-patent literature.
  • Work closely with IP attorneys, legal associates, and close IP FTO opinion reports in a timely manner.
  • Plan and conduct BOM FTO reviews for NPD at product level across automotive technology domains.

The successful candidate will have a degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Electronics, Automotive, or Material Science, and qualifications such as WON, WIPO DL101, DFSS, Qualified Patent Agent Exam will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

  1. Drive IP culture and review designs for IP and initiate actions to de-risk products (current and future).
  2. Develop search strategies and conduct search analysis for FTO, SOA, invalidation, opposition, litigation, etc.
  3. Perform advanced technology analysis, including competitive intelligence analysis, Design IP protection of transportation design & engineering across business clusters.
  4. Work closely with IP attorneys, legal associates, and close IP FTO opinion reports in a timely manner.
  5. Release periodic IP alerts - review & dispose concerns from stakeholders effectively built conviction with stakeholders and manage projects/business clusters independently.

Requirements

A graduate with a degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Electronics, Automotive, or Material Science, and qualifications such as WON, WIPO DL101, DFSS, Qualified Patent Agent Exam will be an advantage.
