Job Title: Cloud Data Engineering Leader

Overview: We are seeking a seasoned Cloud Data Engineering Leader to spearhead the development and implementation of data-intensive applications using cloud-native technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Senior Engineers in designing and developing scalable data architectures on AWS and GCP.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design, and implement workflow management systems using Airflow and Databricks.
  • Develop and maintain Spark applications, ensuring high-quality features and efficient CI/CD processes.
  • Architect and implement data warehouses, leveraging modern data warehouses like Amazon Redshift and Google BigQuery.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, promoting knowledge sharing and growth within the team.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on backend and data engineering.
  • 4+ years of experience leading teams and mentoring junior engineers.
  • Expertise in Python, JVM, and Shell Scripting, with production experience.
  • Proven experience in building cloud-native data-intensive applications on AWS and GCP.
  • Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms, with experience in data modeling and database design.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to provide guidance and support to junior engineers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Comfortable with continuous learning and professional development, staying up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with IaC tools like Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation.
  • Knowledge of observability systems like Datadog, Prometheus, and Grafana.
  • Experience with unit testing and test automation frameworks.
