Job Title: Database Administration Specialist

Job Location: Rajkot, India

Job Objective: We are seeking an experienced database administrator to manage and maintain our distributed Oracle and SQL server databases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Management: Design, implement, and optimize database systems for high performance, reliability, and scalability. Provide 24x7 user support and escalate issues to the corporate team as needed.
  • Database Replication: Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely patches, new requirements, and bug fixes. Administer Golden Gate replication routines and troubleshoot database issues.
  • Training and Knowledge Transfer: Deliver technical training to peers and subordinates on database administration, troubleshooting, and optimization techniques.
  • Release Deployment: Test product patches, track issues, and provide go-live support for new releases.
  • Process Adherence: Maintain issue trackers, approval records, and perform other duties as assigned by the reporting manager.

Required Skills:

  • Deep understanding of Oracle database architecture, cloning, patching, and upgrade.
  • Expertise in installation, troubleshooting, and monitoring of Oracle Golden Gate - 11g bidirectional replication.
  • Strong knowledge of production critical/multi-terabyte Oracle Databases - 11g/10g administration, monitoring, proactive health check.
  • Proficiency in database backup/recovery, Hot Backup, Cold Backup, and RMAN.
  • Familiarity with SQL query tuning and database performance analysis.
  • Experience in administering oracle partitioned tables and their maintenance.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Application Server / Oracle Forms & Reports Server - 10g/11g, Oracle WebLogic Server 11g.
  • Understanding of disaster recovery strategies for production/non-production databases.
  • Packages and tools like SQL*Plus, PL/SQL, Oracle RMAN, OEM, OUI, DBCA, NETCA.
  • Security administration, auditing, creating users, roles, profiles, assigning object level and column level grants.
  • Basic UNIX shell commands and scripting.

Desirable Skills: Familiarity with SQL server database architecture along with administration, patching, and upgrade.
