Cloud Database Specialist

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead SQL Server upgrade projects, design and manage Always On Availability Groups, and plan database migrations to AWS.

This role requires a strong expertise in SQL Server upgrades, cloud migrations, and database administration. The ideal candidate will play a key role in upgrading, migrating, and maintaining mission-critical databases to ensure performance, availability, security, and scalability.

Responsibilities
  1. Lead and execute SQL Server upgrade projects with minimal downtime.
  2. Design, configure, and manage Always On Availability Groups (HA/DR) in production environments.
  3. Plan and implement database migrations to AWS with optimal performance.
  4. Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize SQL Server performance.
  5. Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to ensure database reliability and efficiency.
  6. Develop and maintain documentation for database administration.
  7. Maintain compliance with security standards and policies.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA in enterprise environments.
  • Proven experience upgrading SQL Server to 2022 in production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Always On Availability Groups and other HA/DR solutions.
  • Familiarity with AWS database migration tools.
  • Proficiency in T-SQL development and performance tuning.
  • Solid understanding of backup/recovery strategies and database security.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
