Enterprise Data Governance Lead

The successful candidate will serve as a bridge between business and technical stakeholders to establish scalable governance practices that increase trust in data, reduce inefficiencies, and enable data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Governance Framework & Standards:
  • Design and implement a fit-for-purpose enterprise data governance framework.
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and standards for data governance, including data ownership, stewardship, access, and usage.
Business Rules & Taxonomy Management:
  • Partner with business units to identify, standardize, and document core business rules and data definitions.
  • Drive alignment and version control of business taxonomies, ensuring they are centrally maintained and regularly updated.
Data Quality & Accountability:
  • Define and implement data quality dimensions (accuracy, completeness, timeliness, consistency, etc.) across key data domains.
  • Collaborate with functional leads to establish and maintain quality rules and thresholds.
Metadata Management & Cataloging:
  • Lead the selection and implementation of a data catalog and metadata management solution.
  • Work with technical teams to populate and maintain metadata in a centralized platform.
Cross-Functional Engagement:
  • Partner with data platform, engineering, analytics, legal, compliance, and business teams to embed governance in daily operations.
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in data management, with 7+ years in Data Governance roles.
  • Proven track record designing and operationalizing governance frameworks at scale.
  • Strong knowledge of data quality principles, metadata management, business rules management, and metadata standards.
  • Hands-on knowledge with data governance platforms (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatic) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Google cloud platform(GCP).
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a cross-functional environment.
