Chief Executive Officer Job Description

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for overseeing the enterprise's financial performance and leading its growth strategy.

This includes expanding markets, upgrading operations and technology, and building a high-performance culture. The ideal candidate will be a builder-leader ready to scale a mid-sized manufacturing company into a globally competitive enterprise.

  • Own end-to-end profit and loss and value creation; set strategic goals, translate them into roadmaps, and deliver outcomes.
  • Take overall ownership across commercial, operations, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, finance, HR, IT, compliance, and ESG—working through empowered functional heads and Group shared services.
  • Drive market expansion with a focus on Oil & Gas and new verticals such as Defense, Railways, and Infrastructure; build channel/partner ecosystems in priority geographies like the Middle East, followed by Europe, North America, and SE Asia.
  • Build a predictable order book and margin profile; negotiate long-cycle contracts and key accounts.
  • Modernize manufacturing: improve throughput, operational efficiency, yield, and first-time-right quality; deploy capital expenditures with IRR/ROI discipline.
  • Lead digital/ERP transformation; institutionalize data-driven governance including sales and operations planning, SKU profitability, cash conversion, and vendor scorecards.
  • Strengthen supply chain resilience—vendor development for alloys including duplex and super duplex and strategic sourcing.
  • Establish a performance culture—clear Key Result Areas/KPIs and leadership bench, with safety and compliance as non-negotiables.
  • Represent the company with customers, joint venture partners, auditors, banks, and industry bodies; uphold brand and governance standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Key qualifications include:

  • 18+ years in B2B manufacturing/industrial engineering with demonstrated profit and loss ownership and scale-up results.
  • Track record in driving growth across domestic and international markets, securing large, multi-year contracts; Oil & Gas, manufacturing, or heavy engineering background preferred.
  • Strong command of plant operations, quality systems, supply chain, and capital expenditure deployment.
  • Solid financial acumen (pricing, mix, working capital, project IRR) and stakeholder management (banks, auditors, boards).
  • People leader who builds accountable teams and a performance culture.
  • Education: Engineering (preferred) + MBA/PGDM desirable.
