Purchasing Manager Job Description

The role of Purchasing Manager involves procuring high-quality products at optimal costs, ensuring timely delivery and effective inventory control.

  • Identify and assess alternative/new products in the market, undertaking thorough cost-benefit analysis and presenting recommendations to management.
  • Oversee end-to-end procurement of assigned materials, guaranteeing prompt delivery and payment to suppliers.
  • Optimize lot sizes and reduce delivery lead times to maintain efficient inventory levels.
  • Transfer excess stock to other sites as needed.
  • Foster strong relationships with vendors through collaborative improvement projects.

The ideal candidate will possess 7+ years of experience in purchasing, excellent negotiation and communication skills, and a solid understanding of property market dynamics, valuation, and regulations. Proficiency in real estate management software is also essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing right quality at the right cost.
  • Ensuring timely delivery and minimizing delays.
  • Implementing inventory optimization strategies.
  • Transferring excess stock between sites.
  • Negotiating and maintaining vendor relationships.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Expertise in construction materials.
  • End-to-end procurement of assigned materials with timely delivery and supplier payment.
  • Experience in managing high-rise buildings (preferred).
  • Evaluating product value and negotiating contracts with alternative vendors or OEMs.
  • Effective coordination and communication with all sites.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in purchasing.
  • Strong understanding of property market dynamics, valuation, and regulations.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in real estate management software.
