Government Policy Specialist

This role involves leading our policy team in navigating the regulatory environment and ensuring alignment with business goals within India's policy framework.

The team works closely with government bodies, regulatory departments, and other stakeholders to achieve objectives. The successful candidate will provide direction on policy strategies that align with business goals, represent the company's interests, monitor legislative and regulatory developments, and develop strategies to address critical proposals.

• Policy Strategy Development: Provide direction and guidance on policy strategies that align with business goals, taking into account the company's objectives and market position.
• Regulatory Engagement: Represent the company's interests with regulatory bodies, industry associations, and other stakeholders at local, state, and national levels, ensuring effective communication and relationship-building.
• Legislative and Regulatory Analysis: Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments to identify emerging opportunities and challenges that may impact the business.
• Strategic Insights: Provide strategic, data-driven insights and recommendations to senior leadership on key policy matters, enabling proactive decision-making.
• Critical Proposal Development: Develop and implement strategies to address critical legislative, regulatory, and public policy proposals, ensuring alignment with business goals.

• Experience: 5+ years of experience in public policy and regulatory affairs, with a strong focus on the Indian market.
• Stakeholder Network: A strong network of stakeholders, including at senior levels, with a demonstrated ability to effectively and comfortably interact at the highest levels.
• Policy Climate Knowledge: An extensive understanding of the policy climate in India, with an informed global perspective, combined with sound and practical business judgment and common sense.
• Emerging Issues Identification: An ability to anticipate emerging issues of importance to the company, communicating their impact on the business and developing a strategy to address them effectively.
• Technical Understanding: Ability to identify and understand key technical aspects pertaining to corporate operations in legislative and regulatory proposals, understand business implications, and synthesize policy documents for internal and external customers.
• Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build consensus and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
