Project Overview

The Technical Project Manager plays a pivotal role in planning, overseeing, and leading projects from inception through to completion. This position requires a high level of interaction with internal and external stakeholders, often managing multiple project components simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Scope and Schedule Management: Define project scope and schedule while focusing on regular and timely delivery of value, organize and lead project status and working meetings, and prepare and distribute progress reports.
  • Team Development and Accountability: Assist in team development, hold teams accountable for their commitments, remove roadblocks to their work, leverage organizational resources to improve capacity for project work, and mentor and develop team members.
  • Customer Expectations and Stakeholder Communications: Support the Product Owner in managing customer expectations for project deliverables, manage stakeholder communications, and help implement an effective system of project governance.
  • Process Improvement and Project Governance: Define and manage a well-defined project management process and champion ongoing process improvement initiatives to implement best practices for Agile Project Management.
  • Team Empowerment and Engagement: Promote empowerment of the team, ensure each team member is fully engaged in the project, and make a meaningful contribution, and encourage a sustainable pace with high levels of quality for the team.
  • Project Coordination and Completion: Coordinate and complete projects on time within budget and within scope, oversee all aspects of projects, set deadlines, assign responsibilities, monitor and summarize progress, and prepare reports for upper management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 2-7 years of working experience in project management
  • Very effective interpersonal skills, including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of business needs with the ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence
  • Proven ability to lead software development projects and ensure objectives, goals, and commitments are met
  • Solid understanding of and demonstrated experience in using appropriate tools, including Agile Project Management tools like Jira/Trello/Open Project, Microsoft Project, Visio, and all Office Tools
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and experience interacting with both business and IT individuals at all levels, including the executive level
  • Creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the 'big picture' view, with a balanced business/technical background
