Tax Manager Role

• This position plays a vital role in driving the organization's objectives by adding value through tax planning, reducing tax risks, and identifying opportunities.
• Responsibilities include promptly managing tax and regulatory compliances, adapting operating models to tax and regulatory environments, and assisting in strategic decision-making.
• Influencing stakeholders is essential for this role, involving advising businesses on protecting profitability in domestic and cross-border markets.
• Maintaining strong relationships with tax consultants and IFS functions to ensure effective compliance on tax and regulatory positions and policies to minimize litigation possibilities is crucial.
• The role also involves managing relationships with internal and external auditors to ensure effective audit completion.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Metrics: Monitoring tax governing frameworks on tax asset realization to avoid working capital lock-in and ensuring operations reviews to prevent tax leakage.
2. Tax Compliance: Responsible for timely execution of tax and regulatory compliance with accuracy and quality, ensuring adequate tax provisions, owning tax accounts, and following tax positions.
3. Tax Assessments: Ensuring effective tax assessments and litigation management by conducting due research on tax matters to represent the tax position adopted with detailed documentation within timelines.
4. Audit Closure: Ensuring timely closure of audit points with complete and accurate submission of schedules and documents.
5. Engagement Consultations: Ensuring timely responses to engagement consultations and adequate safeguards in engagement documents from tax and regulatory perspectives, ensuring engagement teams and other stakeholders understand tax impacts and consider them in business transactions.
6. Internal Controls: Ensuring application controls are built into financials and tertiary applications and regular review of the same to ensure effective controls, regular review of exception reporting and undertaking corrective action.
7. Compliance Documentation: Ensuring effective maintenance of compliance and assessment documentation with timely updates in reporting applications.
8. Firm Projects: Contributing effectively to the firm's strategic projects, ensuring finance aspects are duly considered.
9. Risk Mitigation: Responsible for mitigating tax and regulatory risks on firm policies and business models.
10. Tax Reporting: Ensuring accurate tax and regulatory reporting, highlighting exceptions, and staying updated with changes in tax laws, evaluating their impact on operations and business models, and factoring them into policies and cost of operations.
11. Internal Reviews: Responsible for maintaining robust internal controls and regular reviews to prevent errors and fraud and ensuring integrity of tax and regulatory reporting, ensuring firm operations and policies are updated with the latest tax and regulatory framework.

People Leadership:

• Team Management: Supervising and managing teams, including performance, productivity, and adherence to SOP.
• Performance Monitoring: Maintaining and evaluating individual and team performance metrics, ensuring fair and equitable measurement of performance.
• C coaching and Training: Providing constant coaching, monitoring, and training to enhance team members' futuristic skill sets, knowledge, and perform regulatory and technical training for the team.
• Quality Assurance: Maintaining quality standards and conducting frequent quality checks to identify areas of improvement and take corrective actions on feedback.
• Recognition: Timely recognition of efforts made by individuals to enhance motivation.

Qualifications:

• CA qualification is required for this role.
