Direct Tax Professional

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Direct Tax Professional to join our team in the Direct Tax practice. The successful candidate will have 3-5 years of experience and will be responsible for providing advisory services on complex direct tax issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Merger and Acquisition (M&A) and Direct Tax Advisory: Provide expert advice on complex M&A transactions, including merger, demerger, spin-offs, and business transfer.
  • Transaction Documentation: Prepare and review transaction documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Direct Tax Due Diligence: Conduct thorough due diligence on direct tax matters, including international tax advisory.
  • International Tax Advisory: Provide expert advice on international tax matters, focusing on BEPS, MLI, GAAR, DTAA, domestic tax laws, and FEMA/ regulatory issues.
  • Inbound and Outbound Structuring: Develop and implement structuring strategies for inbound and outbound investments.
  • Treaty Interpretations: Interpret treaty provisions to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct research on varied income-tax issues, including preparation of case for opinions for briefing senior counsels on complex direct tax issues.
  • Deliverables: Prepare deliverables in the form of slide-deck, opinion, note, and memo.
  • Direct Tax Litigation Assistance: Assist in direct tax litigation, including drafting submissions and briefing senior counsels.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
