Private Equity Fund Analyst

  • Investigate and report quarterly valuations from capital accounts, incorporating cash flow notices for accurate valuation adjustments.
  • Monitor original commitments and unfunded obligations utilizing cash flows and capital account data for comprehensive analysis.
  • Capture fund valuation metrics, including investment cost, realized/unrealized value, gross/net multiple, and financial KPIs such as revenue, EBITDA, and net debt, to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Analyze PE funds' performance by reviewing fund literature, including quarterly/financial reports, to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Prepare quarterly reports for investors detailing funds' and portfolio companies' performance, featuring key metrics like NAV, DVPI, TVPI, IRRs, costs, and investors' capital accounts.
  • Track operational KPIs and provide regular updates on a quarterly basis to ensure alignment with investor expectations.
  • Calculate fund multiples and IRRs using cash flows and perform various fund analytics, such as attribution and value creation analysis, to optimize investment strategies.
  • Manage client relationships for the funds and handle deliverable requirements on a daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly basis to maintain strong investor trust.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and team productivity.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • MBA or other post-graduate degree from a reputable institution.
  • Knowledge of private equity, fund of funds, and financial services industry trends.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, with expertise in MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Database knowledge, including CapIQ and Preqin, is an added advantage.
  • Ability to take ownership and deliver projects according to client requirements and timelines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capacity to conduct high-quality project-level conversations with clients.
  • Prior experience in private equity, real estate, private credit, co-investment, and fund of funds is desirable.
