Private Equity Fund Accounting Specialist

Job Overview:
This role is responsible for overseeing financial reporting and accounting for private equity funds, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP and other standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fund Accounting: Maintain the general ledger, record journal entries, and reconcile accounts for multiple private equity funds.
- Valuation Support: Assist in the valuation process of portfolio companies, ensuring accurate and timely updates to the financial records.
- Audit Coordination: Prepare audit workpapers and liaise with external auditors to ensure smooth and timely completion of audits.
- Compliance and Regulatory Reporting: Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and assist in preparation of filings with regulatory bodies as needed.
- Cash Management: Monitor cash flows and liquidity positions for funds, ensuring adequate funding for operations and investment activities.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial reporting and accounting practices, and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the investment team, legal team, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial information is shared across the organization.
Qualifications:
- Education: Master's degree in accounting or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Experience: 5-8 years of experience in accounting and financial reporting, with at least 2 years in private equity or alternative investments.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, and private equity accounting principles; proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
- Soft Skills: Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to effectively communicate complex financial information.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically and provide solutions to complex accounting and financial reporting issues.
