Material Handler Loading Job Description

A material handler loading job is responsible for creating a safe and efficient work environment by ensuring the timely and accurate loading and unloading of materials and products.

The ideal candidate will have strong physical abilities, including the ability to lift, carry, push, pull, reach, grasp, bend, and stack cartons for extended periods of time. They must also be able to stand for long periods and walk continuously, as well as climb stairs and perform work at platform heights up to 60 feet.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a safe work environment by adhering to all safety protocols and procedures
  • Load and unload incoming and outgoing materials and products in a timely and accurate manner
  • Operate manual and/or mechanical equipment in a safe and effective manner, maintaining proper certifications and training
  • Meet production and quality standards by working efficiently and effectively
  • Be open to performing other duties as assigned
  • Lift, carry, push, pull, reach, grasp, bend, and stack cartons for up to 10 hours at a time
  • Stand for long periods of time and walk continuously
  • Pull merchandise from multiple levels of shelving or move merchandise as needed
  • Climb stairs and perform work at platform heights up to 60 feet
  • Lift and carry up to 50lbs. Specific weight requirements may vary within each department
