ETL Tester

A role that requires a high level of expertise in data processing and testing.

Job Description:

The ETL Tester will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of data transferred between systems. This involves creating, testing, and executing ETL jobs to meet business requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- 5-10 years of experience in data processing and testing

- Strong knowledge of structured and unstructured file formats

- Experience with Avro and Parquet files

- Proficiency in Python programming language

- Intermediate to advanced SQL skills

- Familiarity with Azure Synapse Workspace, Pipelines, and Spark Notebooks

- Functional/regression testing experience

- Test automation experience

- Git version control system

- Data engineering projects in testing capacity/ETL knowledge

- Kafka messaging system

- Banking industry experience

- Large data sets handling

- Analytical skills

- Visual Studio, C#, and Java programming languages

- Data governance concepts understanding

- Data architectures, data warehousing, and datalake knowledge

Others:

1. The ETL Tester must be able to understand requirements from HLD/LLD documents

2. Prepare DEV/UAT environment in Teradata/Unix/Hadoop

3. Estimate space and allocate space to Teradata DB's in SIT/UAT

4. Forklift seed data from production to test environment using Teradata utilities

5. Create forklift job in mainframe to forklift production data to mainframe files using fast-export utility and NDM

6. Set up ETL jobs in regression effort and flow execution in autosys and mainframe

7. Analyze and assign tasks to team members daily, participate in DSU calls and defect review meetings

8. Prepare test cases with test plan and review with dev team

9. Create effective SQL scripts to validate change data capture logic in Teradata

10. Automation script module creation in TOSCA to execute regression scripts, execute test scripts and upload results to Qtest/QC
