Senior AWS Glue Developer Job Description

The role of a Senior AWS Glue Developer involves leveraging the capabilities of serverless computing and Amazon Web Services (AWS) ecosystem to support data ingestion and transformation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing data pipelines that integrate with various systems using metadata-driven integration design and build methodologies.
  • Migrating clients from traditional Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to an ELT approach aligned with Gartner's best practices for data transformation.
  • Introducing DataOps principles and DBT (Data Build Tool) to enhance data delivery and reduce complexity.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

  • Strong experience with AWS Glue, including its features, limitations, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing serverless architectures, particularly those utilizing AWS services.
  • Excellent knowledge of data integration, ETL/ELT processes, and metadata-driven design.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
