Energy Performance Consultant

The primary objective of this role is to spearhead global Energy Performance Contracting (EPC) projects, overseeing detailed energy analysis while keeping operational parameters within budget from the India office.

This entails working on EPC project development and measurement and verification activities, as well as energy modeling. Effective coordination with JCI global branches is required for solutions that conserve energy and enhance efficiency.

Project leadership and technical discussions with branch engineers are essential, along with maintaining project quality, timely delivery, and second-level escalation handling.

  1. Review project inputs and specifications, capturing scope and understanding complete project requirements.
  2. Utility bill reviews and utility analysis for creating energy baselines in EPC projects, calculating energy use intensity (EUI), and energy cost intensity (ECI).
  3. Trend analysis of building management system (BMS) data, verifying operation of control strategies, air handler run hours, solar PV generation, and cogeneration system generation.
  4. Creation of 3D models in eQuest software simulating building energy consumption and potential savings.
  5. Review of EPC contract documents, pre- and post-retrofit energy measurements, creation of measurement and verification (M&V) and construction reports, and cost avoidance summaries.
  6. Lighting line reviews, energy-efficient lighting retrofits/replacements, and lighting rebates analysis.
  7. Facility energy data review, energy benchmarking using Energy Star PM software, and client insights based on energy star scores and EUI/GHG emissions.
  8. Utility energy data, site weather data, and base year tuned regression models in Metrix and Option C software.
  9. ASHRAE level I & II site energy audits, ECM identification, presentation, ROI, and payback calculations.
  10. Customer coordination, project solution proposal, and ensuring timely execution within committed schedules and costs to meet customer requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • BE/ME/M.tech (Mechanical/Instrumentation/Electrical/Electronics/Energy Management)
  • 4 to 8 years of relevant experience as an energy analyst in buildings
  • Understanding of complex interactions between building and HVAC, lighting, and other systems
  • Experience in energy management, energy analysis, energy benchmarking, and energy modeling
  • Energy audit experience (ASHRAE Level I & II)
  • Requisite knowledge of building operations and HVAC operations
  • Quick learner with a keen eye for problem-solving
  • Proficient written and verbal communication
  • Ability to demonstrate good leadership skills
