Servicenow Configuration Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Servicenow Configuration Manager to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our CMDB within Servicenow.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain data accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies in the CMDB.
  • Develop processes for identifying, recording, and managing configuration items (CIs) and their relationships.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure accurate recording and updating of CIs in the CMDB.
Data Integrity & Quality:
  • Perform regular audits to ensure integrity and quality of CMDB data.
  • Identify and rectify discrepancies, inconsistencies, and inaccuracies within the CMDB.
  • Develop data quality standards and processes.
Process Development & Improvement:
  • Design and implement configuration management processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective CMDB solutions.
  • Continuously monitor and improve CMDB processes to align with industry best practices and business needs.
Integration & Automation:
  • Integrate the CMDB with other IT systems and tools to enable automation and improve data flow.
  • Develop scripts, workflows, and tools to automate CMDB-related tasks.
  • Work with IT operations and other teams to ensure seamless integration of CMDB with other Servicenow modules.
Reporting & Analytics:
  • Generate reports and dashboards to provide insights into CMDB health and status.
  • Analyze CMDB data to identify trends, potential issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to management and stakeholders on CMDB performance.
Training & Support:
  • Provide training and support to IT staff and other stakeholders on CMDB processes and best practices.
  • Act as subject matter expert (SME) for CMDB-related queries and issues.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience working with Servicenow CMDB in a similar role, along with a strong understanding of ITIL practices, particularly Configuration Management.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in managing and maintaining a complex CMDB in a large enterprise environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Servicenow CMDB features and functionality.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
