Job Title: Technical Superintendent

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Superintendent to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day technical operations and ensuring the vessel's seaworthiness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Vessel Reporting and Performance Analysis: Track vessel reports promptly, analyze performance/defects, and ensure prompt & effective closures, including observations raised during internal/external audits and inspections.
  • PMS Compliance and Improvement: Monitor PMS compliance and authenticity. Propose database and system improvements.
  • Financial Management: Prepare annual OPEX budgets. Control operating costs, including fuel, lubes, consumables, etc.
  • Certification and Documentation: Maintain validity of all certification and documentation. Liaise with classification societies and Flag authorities as necessary.
  • Vessel Preparation: Prepare vessels for oil major vetting/Rightship inspections and ensure readiness.
  • Efficiency Improvements: Monitor speed/cons performance, implement efficiency improvements.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with Company IMS, international regulations (ISM, ISPS, MARPOL, SOLAS), and all flag requirements.
  • Procurement and Project Management: Coordinate procurement of spares and critical equipment with most cost-effective options. Plan and supervise dry-docking, repairs, technical projects, including upgrades/retrofits, and major maintenance.
  • Onboard Support: Support onboard crew with technical guidance and training, including new equipment.
  • Vessel Inspection: Conduct periodic physical inspection of vessel for assessment of condition/crew/IMS.
  • Incident Investigation: Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions. Propose improvement in procedures and manuals.
Requirements:
  1. TMSA and Right Ship Requirements: Demonstrate strong understanding of TMSA and Right ship requirements and implementation (Tankers & Bulkers resp.).
  2. Cranes and Grabs Experience: Experience of having worked on cranes and grabs (for bulk carriers).
  3. ME Engine Experience: Work experience on ME engines will be preferred.
  4. Safety Culture: Promote a strong safety culture on board and in technical operations.
  5. Environmental Protection: Ensure compliance with environmental protection measures and fuel efficiency initiatives.
  6. Incident Investigation: Investigate incidents, accidents, or machinery failures, and implement corrective actions.
