Job Description Senior Manager – Research Position Summary
  • This role will support our sales and client-facing colleagues in the Middle East region with in-depth research collaterals that enable client executives to prepare and communicate the proposition sharply to clients and prospects across various industries.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with our Strategic Research team in Knowledge Services function of MMGS, providing comprehensive research, synthesized well in appropriate end product formats.

What You Will Focus On:

Key Responsibilities
  1. Macro-economic analysis to support understanding the business environment specifically for use in annual planning. This includes industry-based intelligence and outlook analysis to support the business discuss issues with clients and prospects.
  2. Market sizing and prospect listing of clients that could be related to industries, locations, business types, etc.
  3. Client dialogue decks to support initial discussions with clients and prospects based on our understanding of their core issues.
  4. Industry primers highlighting deep insights into industry trends, challenges, outlook, external drivers, performance, and key risks.
  5. Insight reports that provide an overview of the company, their strategy, and key risks. These reports are essential part of our client and prospect engagement strategy and should be utilized before strategy development meeting for clients, Labs, internal client strategy, or prospect planning sessions.
  6. Competitor analysis that highlights what the client/prospect competitors' strategic intent, key activities being undertaken, and how that relates to opportunities.
  7. Market analysis that provides a detailed analysis of a specific market and product line analysis providing a deep-dive into an Insurance product line in country which allows for targeted marketing.

Hybrid Work Policy: All Marsh McLennan colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one 'anchor day' per week on which their full team will be together in person.

Required Skills and QualificationsEducation
  • Masters/Bachelors in Economics or Masters in Business Administration (MBA) / equivalent post-graduation certification from a reputed institute.
Experience
  • 4-6 years of experience in strategic research (qualitative | secondary), at a leading professional services/market intelligence/research firm including prospect list building, developing client profiles, and performing industry research.
Skills
  • Strong commitment to absorb and engage in feedback discussions and enhancing own knowledge and quality of end products.
  • Deep understanding of financial concepts, global marketplace, key trends, economic and geo-political developments, key business, financial, and people risks.
  • Strong understanding of strategy frameworks (PESTEL, Porter's 5 forces, SWOT, etc.) and their applications in bringing out cutting-edge insights.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, storyboarding, and report writing skills, and excellent communication skills - verbal, writing, listening.
  • Advanced level of proficiency in MS Office - PowerPoint and Word, and working knowledge of Excel, SharePoint.
  • Extensive exposure of commercial databases such as S&P Cap IQ, Factiva, Global Data, A.M Best Insurance service, etc.

Salary Range:

$120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
