Job Title: Product Development Leadership Role

This is a leadership role that oversees new product development activities from concept to production. The successful candidate will ensure manufacturability in sheet metal fabrication and coordinate with customers for design approvals and technical clarifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead and coordinate new product development activities from concept to production.
  2. Develop prototypes, review designs, and ensure manufacturability in sheet metal fabrication.
  3. Conduct feasibility studies, cost analysis, and time estimation for new projects.
  4. Understand customer specifications, technical drawings, and quality requirements.
  5. Coordinate with customers for design approvals, technical clarifications, and feedback.
  6. Review engineering drawings (2D, 3D), and prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  7. Support design modifications and value engineering for cost optimization.
  8. Ensure documentation of NPD processes as per ISO and IATF standards.
  9. Work closely with Production, Quality, Purchase, and Tool Room teams for smooth execution.
  10. Ensure timely procurement of raw materials, tools, and fixtures for new developments.
  11. Oversee development of jigs, fixtures, and dies for sheet metal fabrication.
  12. Validate manufacturing processes through trials and first-off inspections.
  13. Implement process improvements to reduce cycle time and increase productivity.
  14. Prepare and monitor project timelines, ensure adherence to delivery commitments.
  15. Identify risks in NPD projects and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  16. Ensure new products meet quality standards and customer requirements.
  17. Coordinate PPAP/APQP documentation and sample submission.
  18. Support audits and compliance with industry standards.
  19. Guide and support junior engineers in NPD activities.
  20. Promote continuous learning and skill development within the team.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes, laser cutting, bending, welding, powder coating, etc. Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, etc.) is also required. Understanding of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and other quality tools is necessary for this role. Project management and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this position.
