Product Development Leadership Role

Our organization is seeking an accomplished Product Development Manager to spearhead the development of our product lineup. This key position requires a seasoned professional with a strong technical background and exceptional leadership skills.

  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to gather product requirements
  • Conduct feasibility studies for sheet metal component manufacturability
  • Validate design compatibility with fabrication processes (laser cutting, bending, welding, etc.)
  • Develop and oversee prototype sample production for new products
  • Coordinate with design, toolroom, and production teams to ensure quality output
  • Establish and document manufacturing process flows (cutting, bending, welding, etc.)
  • Define process parameters and ensure process stability before Start of Production
  • Prepare cost estimates for new products including material, process, tooling, and manpower
  • Create and validate Bill of Materials (BOM) in coordination with design and purchase
  • Plan and monitor pilot batch production to evaluate process and product consistency
  • Capture and analyze deviations and implement corrective actions
  • Work closely with production, quality, purchase, and sales departments
  • Facilitate APQP and PPAP
  • Ensure DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, and Work Instructions are in place
  • Coordinate with QA team for dimensional and functional validations
  • Develop timelines and milestones for product development projects
  • Liaise with customers for drawing approvals, product reviews, and feedback
  • Handle engineering changes and update designs documentation accordingly
  • Identify and develop external vendors for processes not in-house (e.g., powder coating, machining)
  • Ensure vendor quality and delivery compliance
  • Identify opportunities to reduce cost, improve quality, or optimize cycle time
  • Promote design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA)
  • Maintain design libraries, process parameters, and project records for future reference
  • Train junior engineers or interns on NPD processes and standards
