Key Highlights

Job Description

As a highly skilled Linux System Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our hosting products. Your primary focus will be on monitoring the stability of our products using various internal tools.

You will work closely with the infrastructure team to deploy and maintain Linux/Windows servers, and ensure that all SLAs and operational standards are met.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Linux systems, shell/bash, sed/awk/grep/egrep, VI/VIM/Emacs, netstat, lsof, strace, ps/top/atop/dstat, grub boot config & systems rescue, fstab/disk labels, ext3/ext4, IPtables, sysstat (sar/vmstat/iostat etc), run-levels & startup scripts, sudo/chroot/chkrootkit/rkhunter.

In addition, familiarity with Windows 2000/2003/2008, NTFS chkdisk/acls etc, and the ability to troubleshoot system/application faults using Event logs, updates via WSUS, Terminal Services, IIS Fundamentals is essential.

Shift work, including nights and holidays, is required for this role.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Linux system administration
  • Good understanding of Linux systems, shell/bash, sed/awk/grep/egrep, VI/VIM/Emacs, netstat, lsof, strace, ps/top/atop/dstat, grub boot config & systems rescue, fstab/disk labels, ext3/ext4, IPtables, sysstat (sar/vmstat/iostat etc), run-levels & startup scripts, sudo/chroot/chkrootkit/rkhunter
  • Familiarity with Windows 2000/2003/2008, NTFS chkdisk/acls etc
  • Basics DNS & Networking, TCP/UDP, IP Routing, HA & Load Balancing Concepts
  • Application Protocols: SMTP, HTTP, FTP, IMAP, POP
