Microsoft Purview Consultant

This role focuses on enabling robust data governance, security, and compliance within Microsoft 365 and Azure ecosystems.

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in designing and implementing data classification, labeling, and protection policies across Microsoft 365, hybrid, and cloud-native environments.

We are seeking an expert who can configure and manage DLP, insider risk management, records management, and eDiscovery in Purview.

  • Achieve end-to-end compliance enforcement by integrating Purview with Microsoft Defender, Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune, and Exchange.
  • Evaluate current data estate, identify compliance gaps, and propose effective remediation strategies.
  • Collaborate with security, compliance, and business teams to ensure alignment with regulatory standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance, Data Governance, or Information Protection.
  • Practical expertise with Microsoft Purview, including Compliance Manager, DLP, Information Protection, Insider Risk, eDiscovery, and Records Management.
  • Proven ability to design sensitivity labels, retention policies, and data classification frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 security and compliance capabilities.
  • Familiarity with Azure services, Entra ID, Intune, Exchange, and SharePoint Online.
  • Solid knowledge of regulatory frameworks and ability to map them into technical solutions.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to design scalable solutions.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Good to Have (Preferred):

  • Microsoft Certified: Information Protection Administrator Associate or Security, Compliance & Identity Fundamentals.
  • Experience with Microsoft Defender and the wider M365 security ecosystem.
  • Exposure to enterprise-scale deployments, migrations, and compliance rollouts.
  • Knowledge of Power BI, Power Automate, and governance workflows.
