Operations Manager Job Summary

This role requires a seasoned professional to oversee the import and export operations of our logistics department.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate workflows, manage resources, and ensure timely and accurate operational processes.

  • Ensure efficient cargo delivery to customers, adhering to all relevant regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Supervise team leads and their teams, regularly reviewing key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure team members meet expectations in quality, timelines, and communication.
  • Deliver regular feedback, training, and development sessions, fostering an operational mindset in the team.
  • Identify areas of inefficiency or data integrity issues, proposing process improvements and automation solutions.
  • Maintain seamless collaboration with service providers.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish goals and objectives for the team, aligned with company guidelines and key performance areas/indicators.
  • Utilize established indicators and tools effectively to maximize revenue and ensure timely accounting functions.
  • Lead, motivate, and manage all operations teams, maintaining adequate staffing levels and conducting quarterly performance reviews.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with freight forwarding procedures and financials: TSA, CBP, IATA, FMC, BIS.
  • Bachelor's degree in any field (preferably Commerce, International Trade, Logistics).
  • At least 5 years of industry-related experience, preferably in freight forwarding.
  • Minimum 2 years of team management experience, including managing team leads or shift managers.
