Role Overview

The Fractional Chief Technology Officer will collaborate closely with the founding team to provide visionary technology leadership, ensure robust architecture decisions, and oversee execution with agility. This part-time, high-impact role is ideal for senior technology leaders who want to contribute to an early-stage startup on a flexible basis, shaping the company's technology vision and direction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and drive the technology strategy for the 0–1 journey, aligning with business goals and funding milestones.
  • Oversee the design and development of the Learning Management System (LMS) platform and integrations, ensuring scalable, secure, and compliant architecture.
  • Evaluate and onboard the right technology stack, tools, and vendors, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
  • Build and mentor an initial tech/product team, equipping them with the skills and expertise needed to succeed.
  • Advise on AI/ML, personalization, and data-driven features for learner experience, driving engagement and retention.
  • Align technology strategy with business goals, scalability, and growth, making informed decisions that propel the company forward.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in technology leadership roles, with a proven track record of building and scaling digital platforms.
  • Hands-on expertise in product architecture, cloud infrastructure, and security, with a strong understanding of LMS platforms, APIs, and integrations.
  • Ability to work in a fractional / part-time capacity, balancing strategy and hands-on execution, with strong communication and mentoring skills.
