Job Overview

The TransPerfect TechOps team has been a vital part of the company's success, delivering technology and services that have simplified the lives of clients and colleagues.

As a Database Administrator, you will work directly with senior developers to design, test, plan, protect and implement departmental databases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage database locking, process blocking, and performance tuning
  • Create and maintain high availability and disaster-recovery-friendly architecture
  • Optimize, test, and verify backup and restoration processes
  • Develop monitoring and metrics tooling and dashboards for database performance and operation
  • Preventatively manage infrastructure, considering potential future issues and mitigating damage from incidents
  • Handle support tickets and back up peers when necessary
  • Develop and deploy new database objects and changes to existing database objects
  • Design and maintain complex relational database reports using SSRS

Requirements:

  • Advanced understanding of relational database architecture/infrastructure, specifically MSSQL
  • Knowledge of SSMS, SSRS, and support tooling
  • Knowledge of T-SQL, Stored Procedures, and day-to-day DB functions
  • Advanced knowledge of optimizing MSSQL, supporting HA/DR, etc
  • Strong knowledge of systems and software development lifecycles; application integration techniques; and relational database design
  • Experience with Always on High Availability Groups is a plus
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and break down complex problems
  • Communicate ideas, thoughts, and suggestions clearly to manager and peers
  • Participate in code reviews and offer constructive criticism
  • Experience with cloud database storage technologies

Education:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree or its equivalent
