Factory Manager Job Description

The role of a Factory Manager is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of a manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in machinery manufacturing, metal-oriented product manufacturing, or similar industries.

Responsibilities include overseeing daily operations, developing and implementing production plans, schedules, and budgets to meet output targets on time and within budget. Additionally, the candidate should be able to lead, train, and supervise production staff across all facility departments.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for this role include maintaining equipment and machinery to ensure optimal working condition, minimizing downtime, and implementing and monitoring safety policies. Collaboration with quality control teams is also essential in enforcing quality assurance protocols and continuously improving product standards.

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, Business Administration, or related discipline is preferred, along with 5+ years managerial experience in a factory setting. Demonstrable career stability and progression in past roles are also highly valued.

Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills are required to foster a positive, productive work environment. Knowledge of production management, maintenance protocols, quality standards, and safety systems is also necessary. Proficiency with ERP systems, production management software, and Microsoft Office is desired.

Problem-solving and analytical abilities, flexibility, and adaptability in rapidly changing environments are essential for success in this role. Proven negotiation skills for interacting with suppliers and vendors, as well as a commitment to continuous learning and industry best-practices, are also valuable assets.
