Job Overview

The SAP ILM Solution Architect will be responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive data management strategies across complex SAP landscapes. This role demands deep technical expertise in SAP Data Volume Management, hands-on experience with ILM components, and a strong understanding of compliance, retention, and system decommissioning practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute data retention management strategies, including legal hold, case management, and ILM blocking.
  • Lead the design and implementation of hybrid solutions for technical and staging tables.
  • Analyze and mitigate the impact of archiving on business processes and system performance.
  • Implement custom archive objects, purging, and hybrid DVM solutions for technical and staging tables.
  • Manage archive metadata and ADK file handling, ensuring integrity and accessibility.
  • Conduct system assessments to identify opportunities for data volume management and define archiving strategies.
  • Troubleshoot archiving issues and provide solutions for open item closures.
  • Integrate Nearline Storage (SAP IQ) with archive servers and SAP systems.
  • Prioritize projects based on business needs and resource availability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective communication.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A strong understanding of SAP DVM, ILM components, and compliance requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with document archiving scenarios and content server migrations.
  • Experience integrating SAP with external content and archive servers.
  • Familiarity with SAP NSE and data aging strategies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate will also possess:

  • Experience with SAP RISE Clean core methodology.
  • Knowledge of data storage and retrieval best practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
