Design Engineer Job Description

The primary goal of the Design Engineer is to develop and implement effective design solutions for various projects. This role requires a unique blend of creativity, technical expertise, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed layouts and drawings using CAD software, ensuring accuracy and precision.
  • Prepare comprehensive bills of materials (BOMs) for procurement and fabrication purposes.
  • Develop 2D and 3D models of process equipment, utilizing advanced CAD tools and techniques.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution and timely delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing clear explanations of design concepts and technical requirements.

Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience with CAD software such as Auto-CAD and Solid Edge.
  • Ability to create accurate and detailed general arrangement (GA) drawings and fabrication drawings.
  • Proficiency in preparing material take-offs and detailed plans based on drawings, specifications, and customer feedback.
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing processes, including laser cutting, bending, welding, and basic machining.
  • Experience with advanced assemblies and layouts, including GD&T, surface finishes, and engineering notes.
  • Working knowledge of SAP system or similar ERP platforms.
  • At least 1+ years of hands-on experience in Solid Edge.
  • Quick learner with ability to adapt to new systems and technologies.
